Dr. Sophia Leung, OD, MBA, FAAO
Dr. Sophia Leung is a fellowship-trained optometrist with advanced expertise in ocular surface disease, corneal disease, glaucoma, anterior segment care, refractive surgery, and surgical co-management. She serves as the Clinical Director of Seema Eye Care Centre’s Ocular Surface and Dry Eye Disease Centre, where she is dedicated to bringing the latest evidence-based treatments, emerging technologies, and innovative approaches to patients experiencing dry eye disease and complex ocular surface conditions.
Dr. Leung completed an Ocular Disease and Refractive Surgery Residency followed by an Advanced Glaucoma and Cornea Fellowship through Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry and Oklahoma Medical Eye Group. She is a Diplomate of the American Academy of Optometry in the Anterior Segment Section—the first Canadian optometrist to achieve this distinction, a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, and a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry. She also holds an Executive MBA from Cornell Johnson Graduate School of Management and Queen’s Smith School of Business, reflecting her commitment to healthcare innovation, leadership, and advancing patient care.
In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Leung is Adjunct Faculty at Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry and an Adjunct Clinical Lecturer at the University of Waterloo School of Optometry and Vision Science. She is an active educator, conference faculty member, and invited speaker who regularly lectures across North America on ocular surface disease, corneal and anterior segment care, office-based procedures, laser and minor surgical techniques, surgical co-management, and emerging innovations in eye care.
Dr. Leung combines advanced clinical training with a commitment to lifelong learning and innovation. Her goal is to ensure patients have access to thoughtful, personalized care that reflects the most current research and evolving standards in eye health.
